Confession of a Jailor – photo by Vít Mádr
The story of the Confession of a Jailor takes place at night in a dark dungeon. One of our chiaroscuro pieces. Nevertheless, the photographer Vít Mádr managed to extract many paintings from this darkness. We are grateful to Vítek not only for the first capture of our production. Part of his work captures the oppressive atmosphere of the Cejl prison, a place that has captivated us and become the venue of human rights festivals for several years. Vítek created a poster for the festival from several of these photos. And one of the sources of inspiration is the memoirs of Vítek’s mother Eva Mádrová (High treason for TGM), who was imprisoned in Cejl in the 1950s. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to the next one.
