Online workshop with Bernd Ogrodnik

PROGRAM

Morning Session:

Bernd Ogrodnik introduced various types of puppets he has created and works with, explaining the reasons for their use. He discussed the deeper aspects of the power and magic of puppets and the relationship between the actor, the puppet, and the audience. Bernd appreciated the artistic approach, the stage, and the use of puppets at the Líšeň Theatre and provided some tips for their handling. The afternoon session provided an opportunity for questions and a conversation with Bernd.

The format of the online workshop was conducted in English.

Several participants attended the workshop together with members of the Líšeň Theatre at the Trojka Café (Dominikánská 9) or through a limited participant stream.

BERND OGRODNIK (1961) is a German puppeteer residing in Iceland. He is a co-founder and artistic director of the World of Puppets. He performs worldwide as a solo artist and conducts workshops. In Iceland, he works for the National Theatre, Icelandic Opera, and City Theatre in Reykjavík. Bernd Ogrodnik has developed pioneering techniques in puppetry and enjoys telling stories using simple props and his own body. He gained fame for his innovative work on the production of the critically acclaimed film “Strings.” He has received numerous awards for his cultural contributions to the field of puppetry.
