The Provoking Theatre in Visegrád

In the Provoking Theatre project, we continue in the V4 countries.

We perform our productions Putin is Skiing, Blood Hygiene, and the newest play CRIPPLETREK. In the discussions following the performances, we address urgent contemporary topics. Our project partners chose the discussants for the post-show debates. We look forward to their reflections on current events.

We are curious to see if the themes we address will be viewed differently in each country. We consider it important for our project to contribute to the support of democracy at a time when tendencies toward populism and totalitarianism are on the rise in the V4 region.

The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to promote ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

19.5.2024 Unia Teatr Niemozliwy Warsaw Puppet Theatre focused on creating performances for adults. Organizer of the festival "A Puppet is also a Human."

19.5.2024 MárkusZínház MárkusZínhás is an independent puppet theatre and the organizer of a significant cultural event, the world-renowned shadow theatre showcase - Karakulit International Puppet Festival and Symposium.
19.5.2024 Griff Bábszínház Griff Bábszínház is a puppet theatre primarily focused on creating plays for children. It brings the culture and traditions of Hungarian and other nations to life, organizes puppet theatre gatherings, and provides both personnel and technical support for cultural programs organized by the local government.
19.5.2024 Divadlo YARMAT The Yarmat Theatre presents performances for both adults and children. Additionally, it organizes Czech-Slovak workshops on physical theatre and acrobatics.
19.5.2024 Truc sphérique, o.z. The operator of the cultural center Stanica Žilina-Záriečie, which combines an independent cultural space, an artistic laboratory, and activism, operates at the railway station of the same name. It also focuses on the reconstruction and operation of another cultural space, the New Synagogue Žilina.
17.5.2024 Nadácia Cvernovka The Cvernovka Foundation operates the cultural and creative center called Nová Cvernovka, located in the premises of a former chemical industrial complex in Bratislava.
